Diplomas, Awards Presented at 83rd Commencement
Seventy-seven Landon seniors were awarded diplomas in the Pielage Amphitheater on Friday, June 8.
Board Chair H. Sherman “Tiger” Joyce ’78 welcomed the guests and formally introduced the Class of 2012. Class President Shehrose Mian ’12, who will attend Brown University, presented the Class Gift, the Class of 2012 Scholarship. Valedictorian Michael Anderson ’12, who will attend Princeton University, addressed his fellow graduates and guests, followed by Headmaster David M. Armstrong delivering the Commencement Address to the graduates before they received their diplomas.
Student awards were given during the ceremony, recognizing outstanding scholarship, community service, athletic leadership, creativity and more. One member of the faculty and one member of the staff were also recognized by the School for their active commitment to Landon. The following members of the community were honored:

The Malcolm Coates Student Activities Award: Henry Duncan ’12
The Eleanor Ann Johnson Award: Michael Anderson ’12
The William Harrison Triplett Award: Hank Brown ’12
The Carroll Mercer Marbury Award: Michael Hengerer ’12
Upper School Headmaster's Award: Vincent Kindfuller ’12
The Mary Lee and Paul Landon Banfield Award: Steven Micciche
The Alice F. Cosimano Award: Lisa Goenner
The Hugh C. Riddleberger Alumni Scholarship Award: Adam Freed ’13
The ceremony ended with the traditional transfer of leadership to the Class of 2013.
