The Montgomery County Plein Air Artists (MCPAA) are thrilled to be a part of the Landon Azalea Garden Festival this year. All of their works are painted “en plein air.” Yes, that is correct — everything is painted outside. They are inspired by the rushing waters of Great Falls, the wind in the spring leaves at Brookside Gardens, and the warm sun and the cool snow scenes on the canal locks — as well as the city scenes in Rockville and Bethesda. Members of the group come from all over Montgomery County, Washington, DC, and Virginia. The novice, as well as the professional, all enjoy painting with them. Many of the members have received prestigious and outstanding awards for their art. The artists paint in varied mediums such as oil, watercolor, acrylic, and pastels.

You will see MCPAA artists painting in the Perkins Garden — as well as other locations on the Landon School campus — throughout the Festival weekend. Finished paintings will be on display for sale inside the Barton Alumni Athletic Center.
