Studio Arts

Landon's best kept secret is our commitment and talent in the arts. Our students discover new mediums and concepts as they learn to express themselves artistically. Building upon their individual strengths, students explore artistic traditions, theory and technical training as they develop their own style.

Beginning in third grade, students experiment with color, methods and their own imagination. Middle School students start focusing on elements of design and realistic drawing supported by art history.

Upper School students start with a Foundations of Art course which leads to electives in ceramics, digital arts, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. Students are also introduced to new artists every month with new showings in our Landow Gallery and have the opportunity to display their own artwork around campus.
