Dr. Tushar Patel is an orthopedic spine specialist practicing with Commonwealth Orthopaedics in Northern Virginia. Patel previously served as Chief of the Section of Spine Surgery and as Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedics at Yale University. He holds six patents for spinal implants that make spinal surgery safer and improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. His studies continued with a fellowship in Spinal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
He and his wife, Dr. Monica Shah, have two young sons.
