Lunch Menu

The dining room at Landon is operated in conjunction with Sodexo Services, under the direction of Charmion Wood. Under Ms. Wood, the lunch program has "gone green" by encouraging reduction of food and paper waste, and well as going "trayless" to reduce water and electricity use.

In addition to the statement below, we are committed to Landon's Health Protocol Statement that was sent out on September 4th and we are working closely with Maria Weiss to limit the spread of any flu virus.
In response to the ongoing H1N1 flu pandemic occurring globally, Sodexo continues to monitor its progress as well as maintaining constant contact with national regulatory agencies in order to provide the highest level of preparation and response.
We continue to reinforce Sodexo’s food safety, cleanliness and personal hygiene guidelines throughout our operations. With our high standards, these are an effective safeguard against transmission of the H1N1 flu. We are also reinforcing our recommendations and policies that Sodexo employees must notify their manager when experiencing flu-like symptoms and to stay home when ill in order to prevent the spread of infection.
Sodexo is monitoring the situation closely and following guidelines from the CDC, FDA and other regulatory agencies; and their counterpart agencies in Canada and Mexico. We will update you as the situation progresses and will continue to act in accordance with the company’s comprehensive crisis management plan that includes regular trainings, drills and updates and engages executives at the highest level of the organization. Please let us know if we can provide any further information or services to address your questions or concerns.
Re: Peanut Butter and Peanut Product Recall
For Sodexo's customers and clients, food safety is a matter of trust. Sodexo is closely monitoring the events of the recent peanut butter and peanut product recall. We have taken immediate action to remove any recalled products from all of our foodservice operations. Food safety is paramount and we remain committed to providing high quality and safe foodservice. Sodexo will not serve any products containing peanut ingredients until we confirm with our approved suppliers that the products are safe and meet Sodexo's high standards for food safety and quality. As this recall continues, we will maintain constant contact with our suppliers to make sure the items we continue to serve are safe to consume.
Situation Summary - Peanut Corporation of America (PCA)
- The recall and product alerts related to Peanut Corporation of America's (PCA's) peanut and peanut products appears to be winding down.
- The current pistachio alert and temporary ban is not related to the PCA issue.
- We do not have a ban on any peanut products including peanut butter.
- Sodexo approved (preferred) products from our approved suppliers can be considered safe to use if and/or when they are available for purchase.

In light of growing health concerns regarding obesity in America, Sodexo Dining Services at Landon is taking steps to assist our students in making healthier choices for lunch. Beginning last week, we are limiting dessert choices to 2-3 days per week in an effort to encourage students to choose fresh fruit as a dessert option a couple of times a week.
Many of our cooking/serving procedures already incorporate a healthy philosophy. During any one month of menus we serve a maximum of 5 fried items, two kinds of french fries, General Tso's chicken, Crispy Cod and Tater Tots. The following food items are always baked: Chicken Patties, Vegetarian Egg Rolls, and we use an outdoor grill to cook the hamburgers and hot dogs.
