Azalea Garden Festival

The 2010 Festival is April 30, May 1 and May 2, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Come Join The Festivities!

All proceeds from the Festival support Student Financial Assistance and Faculty Enrichment.
General admission and parking is free.

The Festival dates back to the mid-1950s when Landon's founders, Paul and Mary Lee Banfield, opened the newly acquired azalea garden to the public. Over the years, a small one-day event has grown to raise thousands of dollars for financial aid which benefits one in every six boys attending Landon.

Landon's remarkable three-day Azalea Garden Festival excites and entertains the entire community with activities that celebrate springtime in greater Washington. . Be sure to join us for our 57th annual festival and enjoy the following activities, organized by our team of parent volunteers:

    Tours
    of our stunning, two-and-a-half acre Perkins Garden that produces more than 15,000 blooms each year.
  • Bearly Used Collection - antiques, home accessories and collectables 
  • Plant Sale - annuals, azaleas, flowering shrubs and roses, herbs and vegetables, wildflowers and perennials, garden accessories
  • Boutiques & All Things Landon - more than 50 vendors with jewelry, clothing, one-of-a-kind gifts, plus Landon items.
  • Entertainment on the Quad & "Azalea Goes Pops" - Landon student groups, individual performers, plus a pops concert with the Landon Symphonette* (*Requires admission fee.) 
  • FunLand - children's activities: inflatables, rock climbing, games, face-painting, dunk tank
  • Student Art Show - the best of Landon's talented artists: drawing, painting, ceramics and photography
  • Azalea Parade - Decorate your stroller and join us Saturday for the first-ever Azalea Parade.  Meet at the Barton Center at 11 a.m. 
  • Mark's Run* - 5K race and I mile "fun run"; sign up the whole family
