Perkins Azalea Garden

Landon's two-and-a-half acre Perkins Azalea Garden is a campus treasure that comes to life in late April and early May. Fore more than half a century the Perkins Garden has welcomed spring with a magnificent display of color as more than 15,000 azaleas reach their peak. A lovely collection of delicate wildflowers adds additional color and sweet perfume to the scene.

The garden is dedicated to the memory of two Landon students, George and Randy Perkins, and was built by their parents, Milo and Theron Perkins. You can read more about the Perkins Garden History.

Today the Perkins Garden is open to the public during the annual Azalea Garden Festival, usually the first weekend in May. The garden traditionally hosts the Graduation Reception.

In addition, the garden is the site of many art classes where boys consider the style of Georgia O'Keefe and other great artists, and gain experience with pastels and other techniques.

Currently the Perkins House, located in the Garden, houses the Development, Alumni and Azalea Festival offices.

To make a donation and to help preserve and enhance the garden read about the Friends of the Perkins Garden.

The Perkins Garden is a private garden only open to the public during Landon's annual Azalea Garden Festival weekend at the beginning of May.  Learn more about the Festival.  It is not available for events or specialty photography.
