Boehly Upper School

The Boehly Upper School is the newest academic building on campus; construction concluded in the fall of 2023.

Featuring unique student gathering spaces including the Forcione Sitting Steps (highlighted in Bethesda Magazine) and the Shue and Gardner Commons, the Boehly Upper School is always a dynamic space. The Brooke and Rosemary Seawell STEM Wing is home to seven state-of-the-art science laboratories. Don’t miss Sorkin Way, the walkway outside Boehly that celebrates the legendary Geometry teacher and his many “Sorkisms.”

Banfield Academic Center

Home to the Middle School as well as Upper School learning spaces, the Banfield Academic Center was renovated in the summer of 2023.

The building features two studio art labs, three science labs, one multi-purpose lecture hall, and two libraries, including the iconic Buchanan Library.

Freeman Family Lower School

The Freeman Family Lower School was renovated in the summer of 2024.

The building is home to Grades 3-6, with the classrooms for each grade literally rising up a floor as students grow in the Lower School. The atrium, with its distinctive art wall and balconies, is a gathering place for students, as is The Den, a multi-purpose study and meeting space. The Freeman Family Lower School is also home to the Landow Gallery, which is newly transformed into a dynamic maker space.
