You can make a Landon education possible for your son.

Landon offers a need-based financial aid program to ensure that the cost of attendance does not preclude access to our unparalleled academic experience.

Financial aid is applied toward tuition, which includes lunch and significant portions of field trips, books, and most fees. Financial aid recipients also receive discounts on before- and after-school supervision and Landon-sponsored bus transportation.

Included in the calculation of a family’s need are household income, assets, liabilities, family size, and the number of children in tuition-charging schools.

How to Apply for Financial Aid

Landon uses the Clarity Application for financial aid. Families already receiving financial aid must re-apply every year via Clarity to account for any change in a family's financial need.

Families in the admissions application process must complete both the admissions application via Ravenna and the financial aid application via Clarity.

Log into Clarity if you are a previous user, or create an account if you have never used Clarity before.
When prompted, select Landon from the list of schools to receive the information.
Carefully fill out the Clarity financial aid application. The information provided will be used to determine a family's need. Once a grant is awarded, it may not be possible to make adjustments due to incorrect information.
Clarity will request the 2025 Federal income tax return through Form 4506C as part of the application.
Pay the $60 fee to submit.
Upload the final 2026 paycheck stub for all wage earners.
Upload the 2026 W-2 for all salary or wage earners.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of financial aid do you offer and when do I apply?

Landon School offers need-based financial aid. “Need” in this case is defined as the difference between tuition and what a family can afford to pay. Landon recommends that families apply for financial aid if there is any concern about affordability. In order to receive a grant at the time of admission, families must apply for admission and financial aid simultaneously.

The financial aid application deadline for new-to-Landon families is February 1, 2027. Current Landon families must apply by December 15, 2026.

Will applying for financial aid impact the school’s admission decision for my son?

Landon’s admissions decisions are made by a committee of educators and administrators without knowledge of a family’s financial status. Financial aid grants are determined by a separate committee. Because there are limited resources, the school may have to make difficult decisions about the number of financial aid applicants who can be admitted within the limits of the budget. Landon maintains a waitlist from which it admits students as funds and/or space become available.

Must families who receive financial aid re-apply each year?

If only one parent works outside the home, will my son be considered for financial aid?

If only one parent earns an income, the Financial Aid Committee will add to the income of the family per school policy. An exception to this policy might occur if the parent at home is caring for a preschool-aged child, a child with a disability, a seriously ill family member, or other special circumstances. Parents should provide information about these circumstances on the financial aid application.

If I am single, divorced, or no longer living with my son’s other parent, what information will be required to determine a financial aid award?

Landon believes that all parents have an obligation to contribute to the expense of educating their children. Assets and incomes of all natural and adoptive parents will be considered in determining a financial aid award. All parents and legal guardians must complete the financial aid application and submit required documents to determine need.

Landon will not be bound by a claim that one parent or guardian is not financially responsible. This requirement may be waived in special circumstances confirmed in writing and sent to Landon's Director of Financial Aid, Harry Sullivan, at harry_sullivan@landon.net.

If either parent has remarried, Landon will consider the income, assets and earning potential of the stepparent in conjunction with the natural parent when evaluating need while considering the stepparent’s responsibility to their own children.

If we cannot pay the tuition noted in the award letter, is there an appeal process?

If a family has new or additional information not included in the original financial aid application, parents may provide this information to Landon’s Director of Financial Aid, Harry Sullivan, at harry_sullivan@landon.net.

If a family qualifies for additional aid, but the School does not have funds available at that time, the family will be placed on a financial aid wait pool to be considered for additional funding if it becomes available.
