Water Polo

We expect our athletes to be competitive in the pool, support their teammates, and conduct themselves with sportsmanship. 

They should expect the best from themselves and those around them. Because of the novice nature of many of our athletes, we expect them to work hard to build skills, to try new things, and to accept that failure is a part of learning.

Although a portion of the water polo players at Landon begin the program with experience playing water polo, many of them come to the sport from other athletic areas, particularly swimming and diving. This takes both a great deal of courage to try something new and perseverance to work hard to pick up the requisite skills to excel at the sport. Additionally, water polo is quintessentially a team sport, requiring a great deal of communication while simultaneously performing extremely challenging water endurance.
