Thank you for being a part of it!
Mission accomplished! Thank you for supporting the 71st Azalea Festival.
Thank you to the talented Azalea Festival Weekend Committee Co-chairs who spent months preparing for all of the activities. When the Festival opened on Friday, May 4, the campus was brimming with decorated tents filled with flowers and plants, sweets and treats, and boutiques with new items as well as our curated Bearly Used sale in Riddleberger Gym. By noon, hundreds of Landon boys were enjoying the rides and games at Funland. Landon musical groups performed, along with entertainment throughout the weekend. The campus was full of activity and excitement.
A successful Festival - rain or shine - requires hundreds of hours of volunteer time in the weeks and months leading up to the event and then during the three days of Azalea Festival weekend. Thank you to every volunteer who made this year's Azalea Festival possible and helped to raise money to support Landon while having fun together as a community.
We are so grateful to the co-chairs below and the many volunteers too numerous to mention who worked throughout the weekend. Thank you for your leadership and support.
Thank you to our outstanding volunteers and committee co-chairs!

2023 Azalea Highlights
OUR AZALEA STORY
Landon School's Azalea Festival has continued consecutively since 1954 when founders, Paul Landon and Mary Lee Banfield, sold azalea plants from the campus to raise scholarship funds.
Organized by the Azalea Festival Committee, the tradition continues every year during the first weekend in May. In addition to selling many unique blooms of azaleas, visitors enjoy live entertainment, shopping, carnival rides, delicious food and treats, and more. Please join us for our three-day community festival and bring your family and friends!
AZALEAS & PLANTS
We sell large and diverse assortments of beautiful high-quality azaleas, annuals, perennials, herbs, and vegetables to fill your growing home garden.
BOUTIQUES
Shop for apparel, jewelry, accessories, decorative home goods, artwork, and other unique gifts. Perfect for Mother’s Day, graduations, birthdays, and more!
Funland
There are carnival rides, video games, moon bounces, face painters, children's entertainment and a special kiddies center for our youngest visitors. Fun for all ages!
BEARLY USED
Landon has some great finds at bargain prices in our big gym! Bearly Used is a treasure trove of gently used furniture, womens clothing and accessories, home decor, artwork, jewelry, books, toys, and more.
FOOD
Enjoy meals and treats from vendors including our very own Bear Bakery & Beverages, Riddles Griddle, and Bear Boardwalk. Plus, local favorites like Potomac Pizza, Clayboy's Shave Ice, Ben & Jerry's and more.
ENTERTAINMENT
Entertainment all weekend! Live music from The 19th Street Band, Daisy Road, Cypress Bluegrass Band, Sol y Rumba, Sorry, the Great Zucchini, and theater performances by Landon and Holton-Arms students.
