In 1954, Landon co-founders Paul and Mary Lee Banfield sold azaleas from campus gardens to raise funds for tuition assistance. The success of the initial sale launched an annual Landon tradition and favorite community event that not even a global pandemic could cancel! Fortunately in 2021, technology provides the ability to bring the 67th Azalea Festival to you virtually at azaleafest2021.givesmart.com.
The Festival’s online auction is open from April 15-25. Bid often on 10 incredible class baskets donated by parents in Grade 3 thru Form VI. Win a weeklong family vacation in St. Thomas, USVI; two weekend passes to The Nantucket Project in Nantucket, MA; four VIP tickets to the Van Gogh Experience; Graduation 2022 VIP seats; artwork; sports memorabilia; professional services; baking classes, gorgeous accessories and more! The online catalog also offers ‘Buy Now’ items featuring a limited edition ‘Stronger Together’ Landon t-shirt, colorful Landon facemasks, cement bears and other Landon spirit items.
The Azalea Festival would not be complete without its signature item, azalea plants! Select your favorites from 50 varieties locally grown in an array of colors and sizes that will enhance the beauty of your home for years to come. Also, discover a guide to unique boutiques. Click on their website links to purchase beautiful gifts and apparel from shop owners who donate 20% of sales back to Landon with code LSAF21, just in time for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduations, birthdays and summer fun!
Simply login at azaleafest2021.givesmart.com to start bidding and shopping.
The festival will end with final auction bids placed at 11:59 p.m. on April 25. All auction items and purchased merchandise will be available for pick-up on campus starting Friday, April 30 – Sunday, May 2.
