Three commit to play college athletics

Three members of the Class of 2020 committed to play NCAA college athletics next year.

Jack Cope will play baseball for Lafayette College; Ryan Giles will play lacrosse at the University of Denver; and Jacob Rosner will swim for Northwestern University. All three signaled their commitment at the first official day for National Letters of Intent on November 13.

“These young men are yet another example of Landon’s rich history of producing talented student-athletes who go on to participate in college athletics, said Assistant Director of Athletics Paul Padalino at the ceremony attended by family, faculty, and fellow students. “Landon’s recent history tells us that almost one in four of our graduating seniors play collegiately in their freshman year.”

Cope will serve as a team captain for varsity baseball this year. Giles is an all-IAC honoree and a captain of the varsity lacrosse team. Rosner is the reigning Metro Swimmer of the Year, an All-American, and a captain of the varsity swimming team.

Eighteen members of the Class of 2019 continued their athletics careers in college. The next signing date for the class of 2020 is December 18.
