Five Landon student-athletes have signed letters of intent to play college football, and four of them earned Washington Post All-Met honors for their play this fall.
At a signing ceremony this week, the five seniors announced their college commitments. They are:
- Terrance Bridgers – United States Naval Academy
- Joshua Chapman – University of Pennsylvania
- Chazz Harley – Elon University
- Jelani Machen – Harvard University
- Jalen Williams – Boston College
Machen, a defensive back, earned defensive first team All-Met honors and was also named IAC Player of the Year. Williams (defensive back), Bridgers (defensive line) and Chapman (defensive line) received All-Met honorable mentions.
These college commitments and All-Met honors add to a long list of achievements for the varsity football team this year, including a 9-1 overall record and an IAC title. The Bears finished 12th in The Washington Post's poll of the top 20 teams in the D.C. area, marking the second time the team placed in the final poll since 1994. The team also finished 10th in the Maryland Media Poll for both public and private schools.
