Your Support Inspires

You believe in boys and what they can become. We do, too.

Every day we gain new inspiration from the achievements of our boys on campus and Landon men all over the world. Our parents, alumni, and other friends invest in our school’s mission, our boys’ experience, and our boys’ potential so they will become the responsible and resilient leaders the world needs—so every boy will become the best version of himself.

Making an Impact

His best requires our best.

Your generous contributions help Landon remain dedicated to the school’s values, programs, and people. Our community’s financial investments in Landon support student scholarships and financial aid; our competitive athletic teams; our award-winning performing and visual arts; professional development for our teacher-coach-mentors; campus facility improvements; and Landon’s long-term financial security. Let our community tell you how.

Campaign For Landon

As we look forward to Landon's centennial and beyond, we see the necessity to address pressing facility, endowment, and annual giving needs to ensure we can live our mission to the fullest, both now and in the future. To that end, we have launched an aggressive campaign to raise $50 million to support and amplify the values we hold dear.

The Landon Fund

With your support, we will define Landon as we head into the next century and beyond. We hope you will join us. There are many ways alumni, parents, and friends support Landon each year. The Landon Fund is an important part of our budget and is the first place most donors direct their support.

Gifts to the Landon Fund directly support the operating budget and all areas of the Landon experience. Whether it is academics or the arts, athletics or faculty development, financial aid or campus and facilities, we have seven different funds that you may choose from to support. The “Area of Greatest Need” fund allows us the flexibility to invest in our most urgent priorities.

Ways to Direct Support

Your gift to The Landon Fund will help us enhance, enrich, and improve the student experience. For more information or questions, please contact our Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations Michael McCabe at 301-320-1098 or michael_mccabe@landon.net.

Endowment

Endowment Growth

Landon’s $20 million endowment is less than half of the endowment at other leading all-boys schools. Endowment growth is the best way to ensure Landon School remains a top-tier institution in the D.C. area and the country.  Our goal to increase the endowment depends primarily on donations.

Governance

The Board of Trustees and Endowment Committee establish investment objectives to generate the best risk-adjusted returns to support the school’s financial needs. In partnership with a global investment advisory firm, Landon carefully manages spending draws to keep the principal amount intact.

Assets and Investments

The Landon School endowment portfolio has a diversified mixture of equities and fixed income. The asset allocation strategy is reviewed and approved regularly by the Endowment Committee and the Board of Trustees to ensure the portfolio’s objectives are met to ensure the well-being of the school.

If you are interested in establishing or contributing to an endowed fund at Landon, please contact Director of Development Peter J. Gallo, PhD, at 301-320-1004 or peter_gallo@landon.net

The 1929 Legacy Society, originally established in 1996 as The Landon Legacy Circle, recognizes individuals and families who have made provisions for Landon in their financial or estate plans.  For more information, please contact Director of Major and Planned Giving Lucas Metropulos at 561-866-8507 or  lucas_metropulos@landon.net

I was in my 30s and setting up a life insurance policy for my family, so it was easy to set up a second policy. There are many ways to give without making a high, one-time payment. In this case, I pay manageable premiums and Landon receives significant support in the future.- matt coursen '99
