Lower School
We invite families to join us for the Lower School Admitted Parent Reception on Friday, March 10, 9-10:30 a.m. to meet fellow new families and to envision yourself as a part of the Landon community. Parents will have the opportunity to speak with current students, parents, faculty, coaches, and administrators, and explore all Landon has to offer.

Yes! Landon's Azalea Festival on May 5-7 is our annual signature event that transforms our campus into a festival with carnival rides, food, shopping and entertainment, plus sales of flowers and azalea plants in varieties of sizes and colors. The three-day event is made possible by parents and alumni who volunteer their time and contribute financial support toward the Azalea Festival’s mission to raise funds for tuition assistance and faculty enrichment.

Yes, there will be orientation for parents, guardians, and students. 

Our Communication and Technology Teams will offer a virtual Landon 101 session for parents and guardians in May and throughout the summer. You will receive a Zoom invitation via email.

Yes. The Admissions Office will assign you a returning Landon family that will make contact with you later this spring. They will answer all the questions you have about the Landon experience from schedules and dress code, arts and sports, parent events and volunteering, and much more. The ambassador family will help you and your student transition smoothly into the first year at Landon. 

Rising Grade 9 (Form III) summer strength & conditioning 
Voluntary strength and conditioning sessions, which include strength training, flexibility work, speed work/sprint technique, and change of direction/agility work, will  be available from June-August. Details to follow. 

Rising Grade 10-12 (Forms IV-VI) summer strength & conditioning
Voluntary strength and conditioning sessions, which include strength training, flexibility work, speed work/sprint technique, and change of direction/agility work, will be available from June-August. Details to follow.

Upper School summer voluntary teams workouts
All Grade 9 (Form III) students are required to play a fall sport. Our Upper School teams have voluntary workouts in the summer. Details to follow. 

Yes! The camps are weekly, so choose the ones that fit your schedule. Many camps are taught by Landon's own faculty and are attended by Landon students. This is a great way for your student to get acclimated to the campus, to meet new friends and get to know teachers he may have in the fall. Camps fill up quickly, so register now at www.landonsummer.com.

We use an online system for our health forms called Magnus Health. You will get access to this system in June and all forms are due by August 1. Schedule your student's physical now if you can. Landon requires all students to be vaccinated for COVID-19 and the flu.

Lower School
Lower School students wear collared, button down shirts or polo shirts and khaki shorts or pants depending on the season, as well as a belt and sneakers. These are Quick Facts for 2022-23. They are subject to change for 2023-24.

Middle School
Middle School students wear a blazer, button down shirts, ties, khaki shorts or pants depending on the season, as well as a belt and sneakers. These are Quick Facts for 2022-23. They are subject to change for 2023-24.

Upper School
Upper School students wear a blazer, button down shirts, ties, khaki shorts or pants depending on the season, as well as a belt and brown, tan or black closed-toed shoes. These are Quick Facts for 2022-23. They are subject to change for 2023-24.

More information about the dress code (and what to buy) will be provided in June, including athletic gear. Landon also has an on-campus gently-used clothing store called Landon Threads, where you can purchase dress code items. We will email you when Threads is open!

Our Before and AfterCare program is available for our Lower and Middle School students Monday-Friday on full days during the school year. The form for this service will be available in June.

BEFORECARE
For BeforeCare between 7:30-8:15 a.m., we offer several options:

• Families may contract for the trimester.
• If families prefer not to contract for a specific number of days, students may attend BeforeCare for a drop-in rate of $8 a day.
• Families receiving financial assistance will be expected to pay the same percentage for BeforeCare as they do for tuition.
• Financial assistance is only applicable to the contracts (not the daily drop-in rate).
• BeforeCare has a Wednesday-only contract available

Prices subject to change:

• Lower School – $300 per trimester (annual fee $810)
• Middle School – $150 per trimester (annual fee $405)

AFTERCARE
For AfterCare between 4-6 p.m., we offer several options:

• Families may contract for AfterCare 1-5 days at a discounted rate.
• If families prefer not to contract for a specific number of days, students may attend AfterCare for a drop-in rate of $25 a day.
• Families receiving financial assistance will be expected to pay the same percentage for AfterCare as they do for tuition. Financial assistance is only applicable to the contracts (not the daily drop-in rate).

Prices subject to change:

5 days a week - $700 per trimester (about $12.50 per day)
4 days a week - $630 per trimester (about $13.75 per day)
3 days a week - $530 per trimester (about $15.50 per day)
2 days a week - $380 per trimester (about $17.25 per day)
1 day a week - $210 per trimester (about $18.75 per day

A carpool map is part of our school's online directory which will be available to you in July.

Lower School. All students will be assigned a computer for use at school.

Middle School. Landon will own and provide a Microsoft Surface computer to each student for their use at school and at home. 

Upper School. All Grade 9 (Form III) students and new students in Grades 10-11 (Forms IV-V) will need to buy a Microsoft Surface computer. Details with the specifications will be forthcoming. Students who receive financial aid will be contacted by our Director of Financial Aid regarding this purchase. 

Information regarding schedule, books, and supplies will be sent to you over the summer.

Lower School. Students will receive schedule and supplies from Landon on the first day of school.

Middle School. Students will receive schedules and books from Landon on the first day of school.

Upper School. Once you receive your student's course list in July, you will be able to purchase books and supplies.

• Carpool begins: 8:15 a.m.
• Classes begin: 8:30 a.m.
• Classes end: 3:30 p.m.
• AfterCare: 3:45-6 p.m.

Middle School

• BeforeCare begins: 7:30 a.m.
• Carpool begins: 7:50 a.m.
• Classes begin: 8:00 a.m.
• Classes/sports end: 3:40 p.m.
• AfterCare: 3:45-6 p.m

Upper School

• Building opens: 7:30 a.m. (Students who arrive before 8:15 a.m. can report to the Corcoran Room or open classrooms for quiet study.)
• Carpool begins: 8:15 a.m.
• Classes begin: 8:30 a.m.
• Sports: 3:30-6 p.m. (approximately)

Please note we have Late Starts every Wednesday (9:30 a.m.).

You will get access to our Back-to-School Portal in June; the full calendar and directory won't be ready until July. We will email you when you have full access to BearNet, our parent portal!

As noted, our first day of school is delayed because of construction to Monday, September 11, 2023. We expect the new Boehly Upper School to be ready for opening day. More details on the construction can be found on our Campaign for Landon website.
