The mature and experienced baseball roster boasts a number of talented players who will be competing at the collegiate level next year. This season the team aspires to have fun, enjoy the process, and win the IAC championship, and players worked toward these goals during their recent spring training trip. Captain Luke Hibey ’25 especially appreciated the team dinner on the last night of the trip. He reflected, “we reminisced on our experiences and talked about our schedule ahead.” Upon the team’s return from the trip, Coach Martinez said the players look forward to continuing to play a strong non-conference schedule and win the IAC Championship.

This season’s golf team is much more experienced than that of last year, returning five starters from last year. The team has some big goals in its sights – beating all IAC opponents, winning the IAC tournament, and qualifying for the Metro championship. The players’ everyday goals Re to get better every day, never let teammates down, and “be a group of guys who people throughout the community want to root for.” Of the team’s recent training trip over spring break, captain Mac Marshall ’25 noted how watching March Madness as a team each night was a good way to bond off the links. He also reflected that it was “nice to be able to play golf without competition and just enjoy it…The team became closer to each other which is essential going into the hardest part of our schedule.” In addition to the IAC tournament and the chance of a Metro championship berth, the team looks forward to using their camaraderie to their advantage at the state private school championship and the Freeman memorial tournament.

Lacrosse

Head Coach: Will McGettigan

Captains: Sean Murray ’25, Eli Smink ’25, Caden Southworth ’25

Much of the defense and the face-off specialists remain intact after last year’s championship season, while the team employs a new starting goalie and will rely on several younger players on offense. The team looks forward to spending time with each other both on and off the field and playing a competitive schedule. The players have already begun accomplishing both through their spring break trip to Florida: captain Eli Smink ’25 noted that bus rides and team dinners allowed for “prolonged periods to just talk and laugh with each other,” and captain Caden Southworth ’25 reflected that the “connection between upperclassmen and underclassmen [grew] stronger” during the trip. Coach McGettigan stated that the team’s goals are to play to team standards and improve every day, as well as to compete for another IAC championship.

The small but dedicated team from last year has grown in size but remained equally dedicated. Coach Gagnon describes this season’s team as a mix of old and new, with “some pivotal returners and promising young talent.” The team would like to “cultivate a curiosity and love for the sport” of track and field and has set its sights on two main goals: to improve on last year’s IAC championship finish and to qualify for Penn Relays.

After finishing second in the IAC last year, the tennis team has set the goal of winning the championship this season. The team’s roster is very balanced this year, with a mix of grades as well as a mix between returners and new members of the Varsity squad. In addition to the regular season matchup with St. Albans, the team looks forward to finding more success at Episcopal Academy’s doubles tournament at the end of April.
