Altman
Previously home to the Lower School, the Altman Center for the Studio Arts – Wilson Hall opened in 2024. The building is also sometimes referred to as “Wilson.”
BAC
Banfield Academic Center, home to the Middle School and Buchanan Library, as well as some Upper School classrooms.

BAR
Banfield Alumni Room, located adjacent to the Barton Alumni Athletic Center.
The Barn
The headquarters for our hardworking Facilities & Operations team.

← Bear Teams
Our system for dividing the student body into eight teams for various all-school activities and competitions.
BearNet
Landon’s password-protected student information system, where enrolled families can find resources such their child’s daily schedule and report cards.
→ Boehly
The Boehly Upper School building, which was completed in 2023, is named after alumnus Todd Boehly ’91.

Boost the Bear
A campaign focused on increasing parent/guardian participation in The Landon Fund, our school’s annual giving program. Look for the big thermometer across from the Farmhouse as we get closer to the goal!
Farmhouse
Formerly the home of our founders Paul and Mary Lee Banfield, it is now the location of our Development offices.

How we refer to Middle and Upper School grade levels:
- 7th Grade – Form I
- 8th Grade – Form II
- 9th Grade – Form III
- 10th Grade – Form IV
- 11th Grade – Form V
- 12th Grade – Form VI
Freeman
The Freeman Family Lower School is home to Grades 3-6 at Landon.
LEAP
Landon Enrichment and Afterschool Program, which offers Lower and Middle School boys dynamic, afterschool classes that cover topics from chess to sports analytics, and are taught by Landon faculty.
One Landon
This phrase encapsulates our effort to unify our Grades 3–12 school community through curricular alignment and shared initiatives, such as all-school assemblies and schoolwide Pi Day celebrations.
PAC
Performing Arts Center, short for the Mondzac Performing Arts Center.

Our senior ethics leaders, who serve as role models and tutors for younger Bears and take on many other responsibilities.

TCM
Teacher-coach-mentors, how we refer to our faculty members.
Threads
Our gently used clothing store, where students can find previously owned dress code items and gear at discounted prices.

← The White Rocks
Landon’s campus is affectionately known as “the White Rocks,” which references the white-painted rocks that line the campus roads. Before there were light posts on campus, the white rocks helped drivers navigate campus at night.
