At Landon we value our cherished community which has been built and nurtured for years by our commitment to connection and belonging.
Whether it's Bear Teams Sorting on the first day of school, a boisterous pep rally the Friday of Homecoming Weekend, thrilling pumpkin races just before Halloween, hot chocolate and giant marshmallows before Winter Break, or (at least two) spirit weeks every year, Landon students enjoy and continue several year-round traditions.

There's Bear Pride, and then there's Bear Team pride!
Through our Bear Teams program, we grow connections among students in Grades 3-12 with friendly competition and immense appreciation for the talents and hard work of our boys. At the start of the school year, boys are sorted into one of eight Bear Teams. When students achieve in academics, athletics, leadership, service, civility, and character, they earn points for their Bear Team. The team with the most points at the end of the year is recognized in perpetuity with the school year embroidered on their team's flag!
Our School Song: Landon Forever
Founding Head of School Paul Landon Banfield graduated from St. John's College in Annapolis, where students saluted their school by singing "St. John's Forever." That song was composed by Adolph Torovsky, who was the United States Naval Academy bandleader before conducting the St. John's College band.
Banfield adopted Torovsky's melody and revised the lyrics to celebrate the school he founded. Today, "Landon Forever" is proudly sung at our Convocation and Commencement ceremonies, as well as at community events and athletic competitions.
